Water Safety Tips

Before jumping in and having fun, it's important to review water safety. Below are some tips to help you and your friends and family have a safe, fun summer in the water!

💧Overall water safety💧
⚠️Never swim under the influence.
⚠️ Never dive in water that is less than 9 feet.
⚠️ When lightning or a storm is approaching, leave the water immediately.
⚠️Hot pink and orange can be seen the best in water, so opt to wear bathing suits with those colors.

🌊Ocean safety🌊
⚠️ Never swim alone or at night.
⚠️ Always swim in an area that has a lifeguard.
⚠️ Even if you are an advanced swimmer, don’t go too deep and far, and avoid risks.
⚠️ Never fight against a rip current. Swim along the shoreline until you escape the current's pull.

🛥️Lake/River safety🛥️
⚠️ Always wear life jackets when on a boat.
⚠️ Only swim when water levels are low.
⚠️ Stay out of the water if you have a deep puncture or scratch.

💦Pool safety💦
⚠️ Always have a designated person to watch children that are in the water. This person should not use a cellphone, socialize, drink alcohol, or do anything else that might be a distraction.
⚠️ Secure your pool with appropriate barriers.
⚠️ Install anti-entrapment drain covers and safety release systems to protect against drain entrapment.
⚠️ Know how to recognize a swimmer in distress and learn CPR.

I hope reviewing these tips helps you make a safe splash this summer!!
