We’ve all been there: it’s mid-summer, the year is half over, and those goals you set back in January?
Some are untouched, and some feel completely impossible now.
But the truth is: this isn’t failure. It’s a checkpoint.
And there’s still plenty of time to redefine what progress looks like, so here are some tips to help you reset and refocus for the 2nd half of the year.

Before you make a new plan, take a deep breath. Check in with yourself first: Have your priorities changed? Are your goals still aligned with who you are now? Sometimes we’re not behind—we’re just evolving. That’s okay.

Take a look at your original goals and separate them into three categories: 1.On Track or Completed, 2.Still Want to Pursue, 3.No Longer a Priority. Give yourself permission to let go of what no longer serves you. Holding on to a goal out of guilt is a fast track to burnout.

Instead of restarting all your goals at once, choose just one to prioritize. Make it bite-sized, manageable, and clear. You’ll build momentum and rebuild trust with yourself.

Falling behind doesn’t mean you’re failing. Ask yourself: What did I learn so far this year? What strengths did I lean on? What do I want for the rest of the year? This isn’t a sprint—it’s a story. And you’re allowed to change the plot.

Instead of re-writing resolutions, try picking a theme word or vision for the rest of the year. Something like: “Intentional” or “Finish well”. It’s easier to take aligned action when you have something to guide you.
Remember you’re not behind. You’re in the middle—and middles are messy, human, and full of possibility. Don’t let a rough first half convince you to check out of the second. You still have time. You got this.
